Peeler/Corer

The peeler/corer swivels on a pivet point to provide access to both a peeling blade and coreing shaft. With a two point button lock its handle is comfortable and firm in both operations. For peeling the handle is thing and flat to sit between your knuckles while the bulbous end is a comfortable pushing point when coreing. the target market is for males who think of themselves as a bit of a wizz in the kitchen and feel comfortable around cooking utensils. The peeler/corer brings an enriching experience to men as it is a gadget and becomes much more like a tool then a kitchen utensil. The grip is also quite masculine as it is made for a larger hand grip.

The button lock on either side of the hand holds the utensil firmly in place as it completes either its peeling or coreing taste. this button lock also adds tot he gadget appeal, with the clicking noise also enriching the experience of the male user. The black and white colour scheme was chosen because it has a crisp clean look and fits in with the majority of utensils which many of which also have black as there handles. The handle would have a silicon coating on it to ensure a comfotable and slip free grip, while the corer and blade would be stainless steel and other component plastic, the utensil could be quite harmlessly put in the dishwasher clean for its next use.

i like how you have combined to functional things into one object.
i like how it saves both space and time as you dont have to reach out for two different tools while peeling and coring an apple,
i also like the shape of the handle and its ability to move from one end of the peeler/corer to the other.
maybe this design could be improved by taking into consideration that if you are putting lots of pressure on the hand while coring it may move out of place, which then leave the blade of the peeler exposed, this could be quite painful and not safe, also if the handle doesnt move out of place but your fingers accidently do they might slip towards the blade, maybe this can be resolved by having an additional piece the covers either side of the handle which can be removed when needed but covers the blade or corer when the handle is being used.

i like this product's 2 in 1 functionality and its seamless transition from corer to peeler, giving you the convenience of not having to go looking for either another peeler or corer. its sleek and simple design is also quite visually appealing.
the design could however be improved by considering a way to protect the fingers from the blade of the peeler whist the corer is in use, as the fingers could quite easily touch the blade if the user had a tight grip on the utensil.

The union of two utensils in one is really cool. I like how your hand is protected from one utensil while using the other one by a swiveling anthropometric grip. Attention to minor details such as colour, the male directed target market, the clicking mechanism, ergonomics, silicon coating and functionality is good. You have successfully created a product that not only enriches the users experience with form and function, but goes beyond the call of duty and incorporates 2 closely related utensils into one.
Very nice. James Turnbull

The gadget aspect of the design is fantastic, and practical and successully targets your market 'men'. I like the simplicity of the design and especially how you have incorperated a locking mechanism to keep the two functions combined as one.
The silicon grip is ergonimical, and larger for the male hand enriching its pleasurable attributes.
It would of been interesting to see how you could of designed a more functional and aesthetically pleasing corer, ie making it easier to core an apple... thumb grip or a device a bit like a cork screw, with a plastic sharp end.
I think this product is defiantly sellable and you've done a great job!

This is good! I like it, it is extremly usefull for this market, not just men but people that want to make themselves a home cheff. This utencils give character to the kitchen, also give to the person a beter feeling of the tools they are using & a bit of a spice to their falir at cooking. Myself, i love to play with grinding some peels here & there, & just let imagination flow. I believe that the 4 pleasures would be reached & that the product itself is well thought & achieved.
I want one!
